Textiles

I have always been interested in textiles, and appreciate intricate embroideries and fine fabrics. I have been an embroiderer for many years, and always have something to work at. Once my children went to school, I extended my interest into weaving and spinning, making rugs, wall hangings and domestic pieces. I have used spun and unspun fleeces in my tapestry weavings.

I am also involved in the conservation and restoration of historic fabrics, in churches and other places where they are on show to the public, as a NADFAS volunteer. I have learnt how to work safely on old textiles, and to do gold work. I'm always willing to exchange ideas with other weavers, spinners, embroiderers, dyers, restorers ... textile enthusiasts all!
